Throughout my life, I shunned away from studies, just as one would shun away from fire. I did take the occasional course and I did take an interest in all that sparked curiosity in me… But I can certainly call myself a self-taught artist. The best form of study for me is my experience. Therefore, my unique method of work has been created and developed to fit me.
My creation is intuitive and is stripped bare from any planning. I do not know in advance how the sculpture would rise.
It begins by moulding the feet, rising… the legs would always be the first to be formed and then – there’s me and the sculpture, dancing a dynamic duet, where the sculpture rises and forms through a challenging process until it reaches its head; its expression; its clothes and its overall meaning, bringing it to its unexpected, unpredicted completion.
” I WAS BLESSED WITH A WONDERFUL GIFT,
THAT ALLOWS ME TO CREATE CERAMIC ART FROM WITHIN MYSELF.
FROM A SOURCE OF PLAYFULNESS.
CREATIONS WITH COLOUR AND HUMOUR,
A LANGUAGE AND A WINK…
AS IF TELLING THE TALE OF MY LIFE’S STORY.”
“ THE SCULPTURES, ONCE CREATED – ARE NO LONGER MINE.
THEY ARE ALL YOURS TO ENJOY. “
